Youth Prayers

The Youth Prayers that we have been having have been very encouraging for those who have been attending. We get together and pray for various needs that the youth leader has prepared to lead us in praying for, and then after that we pray for personal needs that we have.

Various young people have been taking part in leading the prayers. This is encouraging too, because it shows that there is growth happening among the youth.

We're now looking forward to the Super Soul Service on Sunday 7th June 2009. We trust God to be in our midst, show His love to us, and let us experience His presence too.

See you soon....
And you're totally welcome to post your comments here.
Blessings!

Finding Your Purpose

Hi!!
Here's Pastor Rupert's sermon which he preached on Sunday 26th April 2009, when we had our Youth Sunday.
I hope you enjoy your read, and that you will find your purpose.

Many blessings,
Anngladys.

Finding Your Purpose in Life

1. Your purpose in life is already determined.
Ro 8:29; Eph 1:5; Eph 1:11;
Eph 2:10
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

2. You cannot ignore God and hope to find and fulfill your purpose in life.

How to Find Your Purpose
1. Identify your life gifts

What comes naturally for you?

"God has already revealed His will to us concerning
our vocation and Mission, by causing it to be written
in our hearts. We are to begin pursuing our unique Mission
by studying our talents and skills, and more particularly
which ones we most rejoice to use".- Richard N. Bolles,
What Color Is Your Parachute?

In some ways, society puts roadblocks in our path to discovering our life gifts:
• Certain gifts get all the glory
• We tend to recognize gifts in others more readily that we see them in ourselves.

Does God really give life gifts?
Ex 35:30-36:1

2. Identify your spiritual gifts
1Co 12:4 “There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit…”

Spiritual gifts:
Administration - Apostleship - Discernment - Encouragement/Counseling - Evangelism - Faith - Giving - Healing - Helps - Hospitality - Knowledge - Leadership - Mercy - Miracles - Pastoring/Shepherding - Prophecy - Teaching - Tongues - Interpretation of tongues - Wisdom

3. Quit comparing yourself with others

2Co 10:12 “For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise”.
1Pe 4:10 “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”
*We are all witnesses of Christ regardless of our life gifts or spiritual gifts.
1Co 10:31 “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God”.

The purpose of your life is two-fold: To be a positive contributor in society and to further God’s kingdom

Take your everyday life and offer it to God. Live a life of purpose!

Facing the Giants

Yesterday, we had youth fellowship. We came together as the youth and watched a movie. Yesterday's movie was Facing the Giants. You probably have watched that movie. It's about a coach who's football team is losing, but then he finds his solution in God. How? By finding the ultimate purpose of the football team is serving God, and praising him, and honoring him in all actions - on and off the field. He brings the team from a losing team to one that actually wins in the play-offs.

I have watched this movie before, but boy, was I in tears or what? Especially during the scene where the coach makes the most influential player carry, on his back using his hands as he crawls across the football field, a boy who's 160 pounds heavy. With every urge of the coach, I felt as though God was saying to me, keep on, don't give up, you can do more than you think you can!!

That was definitely an encouraging message for us all. But I think that the punch-line was what Pastor Rupert highlighted at the end of the movie as he was talking to the present youth, that NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD.That we could trust God with all our needs, desires and dreams, and trust Him to bring them to pass.

The youth were happy to have been at the movie. One person who had planned to walk out and go somewhere else during the movie actually canceled his other appointment and stayed on to the end. A very inspirational time did we all have.

We look forward to the youth prayers this Tuesday (tomorrow, actually, and to more of God's beautiful promises coming true in our lives.

Have a blessed week!!

Visiting Touch

Just yesterday, we had our May Super Soul Sunday service. Beginning around 4pm, the worship service was led by a visiting worship team from PEFA church. Oh did they do a wonderful job. There was such an individual connection with God, and if everybody felt like I did, it didn't matter who was next to you, who was there or who wasn't....all I wanted was to connect with God.

It was such a serene service. After about an hour of worshiping, Pastor Rupert encouraged us that in God's presence there is change and transformation, there we can find healing, and all our guilt is wiped away in God's love.

We had great presentations from our young people in church, songs especially took the lead. The visiting worship team had come with a live band, so the air was literally filled with beautiful music. I especially enjoyed the Rock version of their playing.

At the end, the high-schoolers, who are going back to school today and tomorrow, were prayed for. It's good to send them off with a blessings. We sure are going to miss them. After the service people interacted with one another outside, it seemed as if no-one wanted to go home. I'm glad that church has become a place where our young people actually want to hang out.

Said good-bye to a couple of high-schoolers....and headed for home. Can't wait for the next one!

Talent...Youth Sunday!!!

Great talent was indeed exemplified at our church on Sunday the 26th of April this year. We had our Youth Sunday, and it went great.

Pastor Rupert preached a great sermon on the talents and abilities that God gives each one of us, how to identify them and make the most use of them. (Soon we'll post the sermon here, too.) The young people had great presentations-dances, songs, wow! The BGP's and Begotten groups are definitely great dancers. The Abba Father Crew sang, and Joan & Tracy did a wonderful duet.

The young people participated in ushering, hospitality, greeting people and leading worship. At the end of the service, the ushers and greeters gave sweets to the congregants as they left the service. We had a Youth Tent prepared where we show cased the youth opportunities available, such as Vocational Training College (email me for details of the courses available), Voluntary Counseling and Testing Center, Beracah Worship Team, and Eagles Drama Ministry. We had also a spot for people to register for the Family Fun Day which was to happen on Friday the 1st of May.

The day was a great success. The adults complimented our efforts. We enjoyed the day, and we give all glory back to GOD!!
